Tour/Meeting Scheduled on Space Coast
The next quarterly meeting of the System Safety Society's Florida Chapter has been scheduled. This gathering will take on a different format in that we will be touring Cape Canaveral Air Station's Titan launch facility, then meeting for dinner. Lynn Smith, System Safety Chief for the Transfer Orbit Stage, will be our guide. This will be a rare opportunity to see the Titan IV launch process up close.
Our tour will begin at 4:00 p.m. Due to the restricted access at CCAS, please call or email one of the POC's listed below to get more details and directions.
We have dinner reservations at the Cocoa Beach Pier at 6:00. Please join us to discuss chapter business as well as a recap of the tour in an ocean-front atmosphere at the pier. There will be a choice of entrées from the menu for $12.95. The restaurant is located at 401 Meade Avenue in Cocoa Beach. For directions, you may call them at (407)783-7549.

The 14th International System Safety Society Conference in Albuquerque, NM, is fast approaching. Check for the latest news on the WWW at http://www.sandia.gov/sys_saf_conf/intro.htm. Many of us in the FL chapter are looking forward to meeting our colleagues from around the country. Hope to see you there in August!

Most of you are aware that the NFPA has released the 1996 National Electric Code. Have you become aware of the changes in the new edition? On April 16 - 19 in Ft. Lauderdale, the NFPA will be teaching a seminar going over the changes. Call 1-800-344-3555 for more information.
The proceedings from the International Federation of Automatic Control(IFAC) is publishing a volume of papers from the workshop held in November in Daytona Beach(280 pages, $73.60). Contact Elsevier Science Inc. at (914)524-9200.
Safe Comp 96, the 15th International Conference on Computer Safety, Reliability, and Security, has made a call for papers. The conference will be held in Vienna, Austria, October 23-25, 1996. Contact E. Schoitsch at schoitsch@zdfzs.arcs.ac.at if you are interested.
