Conference Registration Policy and Ethics
  1. Everyone who enters any room with an active conference session (i.e., plenary session, keynote address, paper presentation, tutorial, workshop, panel or poster session) must be wearing a conference registration badge. This includes all authors and presenters.
  2. Food and beverages are for registered conference participants only. Everyone who helps themselves to refreshments during breaks must be wearing a conference registration badge. Registered conference participants who are accompanied by spouses or family members should visit the "Spouses and Family" page to find out more about provisions for spouses and family members.
  3. Everyone who attends receptions, luncheons or the thursday evening social event must be wearing a conference registration badge or have a ticket.
  4. Even if someone is planning to attend a single presentation, they must pay for a single day conference registration (at a minimum).
  5. Conference registration is not required to participate in the Wednesday evening "New Directions for Creating Safety in Healthcare Roundtable Discussion" since this is outside "conference hours".
  6. The "Exhibitor" package does not include conference registrations. Please see details on the sponsors and exhibitors packages for more details.
  7. The "Sponsor" package includes two free conference registrations. The sponsor must ensure that the two individuals using these free registrations are pre-registered for the conference.
  8. At least one author for each paper, and at least one presenter for each tutorial, workshop or panel must have a paid registration no later than July 1, 2008.

Registration fees
Registration fees (except as noted) includes attendance at all technical paper, tutorials, workshop, panel and poster sessions, Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday luncheons, special evening event and entertainment, and one CD-ROM copy of the conference proceedings. Registrants who are not members of the Society will receive one year’s complimentary affiliate membership.

  1. Only current members of the System Safety Society are eligible for this rate. Membership must be maintained through conference. Individuals who register as members, but are not or are not current, will have the non-member (All Others) rate charged to their credit card after they register.
  2. 1-year SSS membership is included in the non-member 1-day registration price; does not include meals or special events.
  3. Does not include Thursday evening event. Include the name of educational institution on this form and attach copy of student identification.
  4. Does not include meals or special events.

Registration fees as listed above are in US Dollars. Deadline for pre-registration is August 18, 2008. On-site registration at the convention will be available.

Cancellation Policy
Should you be forced to cancel your registration after payment of the fee, you will be entitled to a full refund less a $50 handling fee until 15 May 2008. 50% refunds will be provided until 1 July 2008. No refunds will be provided after 1 July 2008. A substitute may be designated at any time prior to 18 Aug, 2008.

Privacy Policy
Your contact information will not be sold to third parties and is only for use by the System Safety Society.

Extra Tickets for Luncheons and the Thursday Evening Social
Full registration includes a single ticket for luncheons (Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday) as well as a single ticket for the Thursday Evening Social Event (dinner included) at the Vancouver Aquarium. If you would like to purchase additional tickets, or, if you have purchased a Single-Day registration and would like to attend this event, tickets for the luncheon and/or Thursday Evening Social Event can be purchased when you register using the on-line registration system. These tickets can also be purchased at the registration desk during the conference week.
