The System Safety Society is pleased to announce the 23rd International System Safety Conference, August 22-26, 2005, at the Westin Horton Plaza Hotel, San Diego, California, USA. The conference is an international forum for the technical presentation and discussion of all aspects and issues regarding system safety engineering and management.
The conference theme is Safety is No Accident. This theme embodies the principle that system safety is a formal, disciplined approach to hazard management. The conference will emphasize topics to enhance the knowledge and skills necessary to create and apply system safety solutions to meet today’s diverse needs in a variety of industries. The spectrum of topics will cover both the art and science of system safety, and the organizational issues influencing the effective management of system safety in the product life cycle.
This is the major conference for system safety and related professionals, with a week of technical sessions, tutorials, workshops, special events, social affairs, luncheons, and the society’s conference awards banquet. The conference proceedings are the premier collection of work in the system safety field. For more information, visit the conference web site at www.system-safety.org.
Hotel Reservations:
Due to overwhelming early response, the Westin Horton Plaza Hotel is now full, over 220 rooms. Our baseline room block was set at 130% of the total rooms booked at last year's conference. However, being system safety professionals, your conference planning team had a mitigation plan in place reserving additional rooms with the Sheraton Suites Hotel and the Omni Hotel.
* The special rate is available until July 30, 2005, or until full. Both are within a 10 minute walk from the Westin. All rooms will be at $129.00 single and $149.00, plus tax for double occupancy and available only the nights of 21 to 26 August. Some rooms may be available outside of the core dates at the per diem rate.
