Mr. Chad Thrasher

Safety Engineer

Chad Thrasher is currently a safety engineer for the National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA). He is managing the integrated safety program for the Ares I Launch Vehicle including all phases of manufacture and operation.  Prior to his current position, he served as in the Resident Management Office at the Michaud Assembly Facility (MAF) in New Orleans. He also participated on the In-Flight Anomaly investigation team associated with STS-114 and previously on ISS in-flight anomaly investigation. He has held positions as a quality engineer, safety engineer and manager for Hernandez Engineering, Inc. in support of MSFC. He has served the TVC on the Awards Committee, as a past Treasurer, and at various International System Safety Conferences he has presented papers, tutorials, and served as chair of multiple sessions.
